Discipleship Training School
Is a full-time 6 month intensive training course that seeks to bring you into a deeper relationship with God. It allows you to discover your passions and calling while experiencing another culture and going on the adventure of a lifetime. The course is divided into two parts: a 3-month lecture phase, and a 3-month outreach phase. The course is not only a prerequisite for becoming a YWAM staff member but also for YWAM’s second-level training around the world.
During lecture phase, students will live together on the beautiful YWAM Base in Kigali Rwanda experiencing community life. Students will learn about God and his word through lectures, community living, practical application, small groups, one-on-one discipleship, and local outreach. Each week students will hear from motivating speakers and missionaries. Topics include, but are not limited to: Father-heart of God, inner healing, biblical worldview, forgiveness, worship, and hearing God’s voice. Lecture phase is a time to build friendships, learn, and dig deeper into the questions we all have.
During outreach phase you will practically apply everything you learned by sharing the love of God on a 3 month long outreach. Outreach gives you a taste for full-time missions by working alongside locals who are changing their communities through Christ’s love. YWAM Kigali usually focuses on East African nations. Outreach locations include, but are not limited to: Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Congo.
“Since joining YWAM, I’ve seen the sick healed in the Sahara desert, ministered in the slums of Bangkok, Thailand and have stood in awe and wonder looking up at the Himalayas in Nepal. When you say ‘yes’ to God, the journeys He’ll take you on will be beyond your wildest dreams and the things He’ll ask you to do will challenge you on whole new levels.”
